The Black Seeds are an eight-piece ensemble from New Zealand who are friends and former bandmates of comedy duo Flight of the Conchords. The music on their upcoming release Solid Ground is a mix of afro-dub, reggae, and soul. The album will be released on September 29th.

Solid Ground is one of the most interesting and entertaining albums I’ve ever heard, and will surely be near the top of my year end list.
The songs alternate between funky, brassed up dancehall beats and mellower, atmospheric melodies. The result sounds like Depeche Mode and Bootsy Collins covering Bob Marley…as remixed by Chemical Brothers.
I haven’t seen any posts on this album elsewhere yet, so it would seem this is a “new and exclusive” mp3…
