I still think my favorite – in terms of what I reach for the most – is probably PJ Harvey’s Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea. It’s just perfect from beginning to end. All killer, no filler.
The first two that sprang to mind were “Far” by Regina Spektor and “Human Nature” by Alli Millstein.
Also:
Coldplay’s free live album, LeftRightLeftRightLeft was good. M. Ward’s album might have come out last year but I got it this year and liked it a lot.
I liked A.C. Newman’s album, too. And I heard a couple songs off “God Help The Girl” and really liked those.
Green Day’s new one was a total disappointment. U2s was so-so.
Sufjan Stevens’ “Come on Feel the Illinoise” album pretty much literally saved my life.
