My legal blogging comrade Jeremy of Fingertips has posted a commentary on legal mp3s. Fingertips, like Muruch, is one of the few music blogs that only posts mp3s with permission. I don’t know if the article will appeal to others as much as it did to me, but it does voice some of the frustration I’ve felt struggling to maintain a legal music blog with little encouragement from the music industry – particularly during my long battle with Blogger over erroneous infringement claims. In the article, he mentions the Sam Phillips debacle, which was the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back – or in this case, the motivation for me to move Muruch to its own domain.
