Lemonade was the only music I had immediately following the June flood, which took a huge chunk of my music collection along with my car. BeyoncĂ©’s album would be magnificent in any circumstance, but it truly saved my sanity this year.

Childish Gambino: because the internet

Best album title of the year. I loved comedian/actor turned rapper Danny Glover on Community and the live performances I’ve seen of his musical alter-ego Childish Gambino have been mesmeric, but the studio album is disappointing. Still, I think there’s potential for greatness in the future.
