Canadian singer-songwriter Tatam Reeves plays quiet, unassuming but nontheless substantial folk-pop. You can download his entire Home EP at Soundcloud. I especially like the songs “The Note” and “Passenger.” The latter is the best example of what Tatam calls his “boom bap folk music.”
I caught Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros on Letterman (see video below) in July and was immediately hooked. You can stream three songs from their new self-titled, third release below. I especially like “This Life,” which concludes the album.
You can also hear some earlier material on this NPR Tiny Desk Concert – but I warn you, the song “Home” will get stuck in your head. It was featured on the band’s previous album, Up From Below. You can stream the song and watch the video below and download a free, legal mp3 at KEXP.
